The game of 3-pitch uses the regular slo-pitch rules with the following additional regulations:

Coed: A 175' defensive line shall be used. A minimum of four outfielders must be used.
No outfielder may make a force out at first base.

The batting order consists of a minimum of 10 players (Coed: minimum 4 females). Any 10 (Coed: maximum 6 males) may play defense. Coed: Batting order must alternate sexes.

Unequal Batting Order: The following procedure is recommended to use when there are unequal numbers of males/females: List the males (M1, M2, M3, M4, M5, M6) and females (F1, F2, F3, F4) separately in two lists. The batting order is followed by rotating through each list as you alternate between the two lists.
Example: (Male bats first) M1, F1, M2, F2, M3, F3, M4, F4, M5, F1, M6, F2, M1, F3, M2, etc.
(Female bats first) F1, M1, F2, M2, F3, M3, F4, M4, F1, M5, F2, M6, F3, M1, F4, M2, F1, etc.

The offensive team supplies the pitcher who must pitch from between 40' and 50' in line with second base. The pitcher may be any legal rostered player.

Each batter is allowed a maximum of three pitches to hit a fair ball.

If a batted ball contacts the pitcher, the ball is dead, the batter is out, and the runners return to last base legally possessed at the time of the pitch.

Runners must maintain contact with the base until the ball is hit.

Home run rule: No out of the park home runs are allowed.

The pitcher may not touch the ball while the defense is making a play. Balls from the outfield must go to an infielder who will return it to the pitcher when play has ceased. If the pitcher interferes with a play by the defensive team, the ball is dead and the runner nearest home plate is out.
