SPO Announce an expanded Bat Testing Procedure
|
|
One of SPO`s mandates is to both maintain the integrity of the game and protect the safety of its members. In past few years the number and use of altered or `juiced` bats has greatly increase. In an attempt to reduce the number of these bats, SPO has purchased several bat testing machines from the American Softball Association which are being produced in conjunction with the Easton bat company. SPO will use these testing machines at various venues including the Provincial Championships.
Players and their teams will be severely punished if it is found they have used an altered bat. The Bat Testing Procedure is available in the Approved Equipment area of this site or by clicking here.

2008 League Registration Draw

As part of our continuing efforts to promote leagues we are pleased to announce that the following leagues are the winners of our League Registration Draw.
Bowmanville Mens Fellowship League
Brantford Ladies Slo-Pitch League
Cambridge Red Coed Slo-Pitch League
Stroud Mixed Slo-Pitch League
St. Mary`s Mens Slo-Pitch League
The selected leagues will receive a sports equipment package valued at over $500.

This bulletin from the American Softball Association
Mizuno Orange Crush Bat
There are two different models bearing the same model number of MZC-4. One has the ASA 2000 Certification stamp on it and is approved by ASA. The newer version, just recently introduced to the market, is on the Non-Approved list, does not have any ASA certification mark and is NOT APPROVED. The non-approved version has a clear graphic distinction with the word “Original” on the bat.
The American Softball Association is responsible for the ASA2004 bat policy which SPO uses.
